I have been painting the Katahdin region for over ten years. The striking fall color of the marsh along the Golden Road and unmistakable edge of the shore at Katahdin Lake with the ever-changing view of the mountain behind compel me to paint these scenes.  The quiet is so intense and it is easy to fall into the painter’s zone at the edge of the Lake.  Time is marked only by the shifting light and clouds on the mountain.
